Subj:   Re: Top management support

From:   Patrick Logan

Our company has been recently taken over by a big international financial group and the new owner does not seem interested in datawarehousing at all. In other words we lost the support of top management.

Hopefully your current warehouse effort is supported by business processes that will use the warehouse. If so, then you can approach your new management on the topic of these business processes. If not, then you will have to determine what they are to do a cost/benefit analysis.

Are these processes still important to the new management?

What will these processes look like without the datawarehouse?

If they will work just as well, then scrap the warehouse because you don't need it.

If they work less well, then you have the foundation for a cost/benefit analysis of the warehouse.
