Not that I'm advocating this, necessarily, but at a user group meeting last spring in Atlanta, one presenter took an entirely opposite
(and nervy, I thought admiringly) approach and (if memory serves) sold upper management, which was already generally supportive of data
warehousing generally, on the idea that a data warehouse is part of a company's necessary infrastructure, just like a telephone system or an
intranet, and that it should not be expected to show a postive ROI.
I don't think I have the guts to try that argument out ;-), but if anyone else does, I'd be _very_ anxious to hear how it works.
