I would agree with everything you have said...Including the my personal skepticism also that TD on windows will generally out perform TD
on UNIX, all else being equal. I think you get the main point across that platform choice is both a technical and subjective question in
most instances. So long as you have a number of viable technical choices, it is usually the subjective issues that tip the balance one way
or another. We likely do not have the space or time to really deal with all the nuances of what might be of import in this particular
situation nor do we know enough to make a meaningful recommendation...
