Jim,

As with the Architecture of any Database environment, (Active Data Warehouse/Operational or otherwise), sound: ETL controls, ETL balancing, ETL Processes,System/DB configuration options (Raid/Fallback, etc), Backup/Recovery strategies are a must.

With the above considerations matched with the SLA's, I'd absolutely take that bet.
