Answer1: I think rows will be deleted off wt.table only after the application phase is done.

Answer2: In a Mload delete operation I used, the job time was cut from 10 hrs to 4 hrs after I changed to drop indexes before Mload and rebuild after the mload is complete. In this case the number of rows deleted was 10 million out of a 450 million row table.
