Subj:   Multiload & checkpoint

From:   Christopher Platt

I have looked in the multiload manual under 'checkpoint' and it is a little vague.....I have a problem here that I think could be solved by a checkpoint command.....we are blowing out the mload_spool database here for the first time in 10 years.....and I am in a heated debate with one of my programmers.......

Question : Does multiload store incoming transactions in the wt.table until either a checkpoint is forced or it hits the system default of 15 minutes???

Question2 : I have also recommended that he add his NUSI's after the load and he will get better performance.... (feedback??)

I think if he puts a checkpoint in his mload at a reasonable point he will not blow out my mload_spool database....he tells me I am crazy....(which I am but hey......thats another story).

thank you
