We consider all columns as candidates for compress and use it regularly. In one database, all non-key columns are compressed - tables
have 80 - 130 columns each. We have documented performance improvements relative to these compressed tables in all areas - 30% in load (we
m-load these), varying in query, 60% in space usage, and 60% in archive. The individual rows in these tables do not get updated.
