I would like to experiment with the posting of anonymous messages. We never hear from the majority of the members to the TDATA-L list
and so I'm hoping that by being able to be anonymous, they might be more willing to speak-up.
Obviously this might be a tiger-by-the-tail, so I reserve the right to either modify or censor the note (which is not the case when you
send your own notes to the list). I also reserve the right to end the anonymous posts if it proves to be unworkable.
In the case of modifications, I'll make it clear that a note was modified before being sent to the list. When I choose to censor a note,
I'll send a note back to the author to let them know.
The one problem that I see with the anonymous mechanism is the delay from when I receive your note to when I post the 'Anomy' message.
The anonymous notes will have to wait until I have the time to review it, make modifications (if necessary) and then forward it. This might
take a day or two (maybe even longer when I get busy), but I'll try and do my best to keep them timely.
Just a final word: I'm experimenting with this as a feature. If you don't like it, then feel free to speak-up. Also keep in mind that
the majority of our posts don't need to be anonymous - the anonymous post should be the exception and not the rule.
