Subj:   FastExport & the UNIX 2 Gigs limit.

From:   Nacer Menad

Greetings All,

We have an NCR application node running MP RAS UNIX, we NFS mounted a File system to it. This File system is shared by another UNIX box running Solaris (The Solaris box -supposedely- does not have a 2 Gigs file limit).

I run a FastExport on the NCR application Node, directed the output file to the Shared file sytem (hoping that the 2 Gig file limit does won't apply), however, only two Gigs were transfered. Is the limit buit in FastExport? or the limit is due to Running FastExport on PM RAS?

Did anyone encounter a similar situation? Are there any workarounds?

The File is being transfered to the shared file sytem so that it will be loaded to an Oracle Box. We might be using pipes to transfer data between the two systems (initial tests are positive), however if the 2 Gig limit is built-in that won't help either. Any comments or tips are welcomed.
