Subj:   Re: Data Warehouse's Data

From:   David Wellman

Hi Amer,

Sorry, but I can't get you in contact with any other Telecom customers. You'll could ask your NCR representative to put you in contact with someone.

There's no rule which says a warehouse MUST or MUST NOT keep all the data, i.e. MUST or MUST NOT delete data once it becomes too old. That has to be a business decision made by your organisation based on what it wants the data for, how long the data has value and how much they're willing to pay to store the data. I don't think it's even a technical decision, it's got to be passed back to the business. The technical people in your organisation can outline the costs and benefits of keeping data or deleting it, but ultimately (as far as I'm concerned) it is a business decision.

Regards,

Dave
