It appears that the TDATA-L archives were recently grazed for e-mail addresses, which were used for sending spam. Up to this time the
archives have been publicly available. To make it more difficult for a spammer to use the archives like this again, I've changed the
settings for the archives. They can now only be accessed by TDATA-L subscribers.
This isn't a perfect answer, but it does make it more difficult for the typical spammer. In the future, if you believe somebody has used
the TDATA-L list to target you for spam, please forward the spam to me (with headers, if you have them). If I can verify the misuse of the
TDATA-L list, then that person will be removed from the list.
If you know of somebody who has been using the archives, but hasn't subscribed, could you let them know what has happened? They can
regain the archives by subscribing to the TDATA-L list.
