Hi All: I am new to this list, before I retired from NCR I taught the utilities and did a lot of work with them. I think if I were attempting to solve this problem, here is what I would do: 1. In the DEFINE use the Decimal(5,0) as previously suggested. 2. Set the CenturyBreak value in the DBS Control record to 00, so that all incoming years are interpretted as 2000+ 3. On the INSERT for the DATE column --> :TRANDATE (DATE, FORMAT 'YYMMM') Assuming the date field is a signed numeric COMP data type, this has a good chance of working. Regards, Mike
