Dear all,

we have at the moment 2 teradata system : a DataWareHouse 2 TB (12 nodes 5150) and a datamart 1.5 TB (6 nodes 5200). As our need become big, we must replace our old DWH with a new one (4 TB) and buy several oracle datamart.

NCR tell us that it's possible to combine a DWH and datamart in one BIG system (in our case it will be of 9 TB) by using SCHMON utility. But I want to be sure that :

- oltp users have at least 80% of system power during the working hour

- batch users have at least 80% of system power out of the working hour in compliance with the fact that a batch can running during several days and so we must reduce its CPU consumption during the working hour!

As I would like to test the utility in the best way on our systems, Is someone have a example of the syntax to use with the tool (assume that batch user is 'batchusr' and OLTP 'onlineusr')?

Is it possible to reduce the CPU consumption of a batch while it's working?

All experiences are welcome...
