However, if you are building some sort of Star and/or summary structure where you expect a high percentage of zero values, then go ahead
and compress on zero.
I ran across a customer where they built a structure where 75% of the column values were zero, and they were storing a large number of
numeric summary columns on a row. They experienced large savings in space and full table scan (data mining) query response time.
