To start at the begining for all concerned: On Wed evening the load of the header table 'HUNG' due to the presence of control chars in some of the records. **** 02:34:46 UTY1802 Processing Import Sequence 1, Source Sequence 10000. **** 02:34:46 UTY4205 Record '14327' of file '/data1/posdata/header.Feb24.pnp01921' is too short by '5' bytes. **** 02:34:46 UTY1803 Import processing statistics . IMPORT 1 Total thus far . --------- -------------- Candidate records considered:........ 14327....... 14327 Apply conditions satisfied:.......... 14326....... 14326 Candidate records not applied:....... 0....... 0 Candidate records rejected:.......... 0....... 0 -------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - Logoff/Disconnect - - -------------------------------------------------------------------- It's the same scenario seen before where it finds the corrupt input record; prints a message and attemps to logoff but just freezes. This was in the Acquisition Phase!!! The data was corrected and the load re-run. Unfortunately I had forgotten to release the MLOAD lock and the Header Table was not loaded: **** 20:06:06 UTY6210 Logtable 'workdb.Header_MLDLOG' indicates that a restart is in progress. . . . **** 20:06:06 UTY1012 A restart is in progress. This request has already been executed. The return code was: 0. . . . **** 20:06:12 UTY0817 MultiLoad submitting the following request: BEGIN MLOAD pnpedw.Header,pnpedw.tranlog; **** 20:06:13 UTY0805 RDBMS failure, 2574: Operation not allowed: pnpedw.header is being MLoaded. -------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - Logoff/Disconnect - - -------------------------------------------------------------------- I seem to have been unsuccessfull in trying to resolve this. I know for certain that the restart log indicates that this mload was in the Acquisition phase and remembered in the past having removed the Worktables and Restart log. This is the procedure I followed. I'm still unable to run mload against the table; it seems I should have executed: Release Mload pnpedw.header before removing the worktables and restart log. See errors 2571 & 2583 Since I'm 100% certain that the load was in Acquisition Phase i.e. my data is in a consistent and known state, how can I realease this MLOAD lock??? ANY assistance would be greatly apprecited!!! Gavin Goldsmith
