Subj:   Re: Monitoring queries

From:   Gavin Goldsmith

Hi Again

I know about EXPLAIN; what I'm really after is likely best explained by the situation I'm in at the moment

4 Node 4700, V2R2
4 CPUs & 1GB of RAM per Node

2 UPDATE queries, on 2 table were started roughly 28 hours ago. Qrysessn shows both CPU & IO, PMON shows a 10MB spool file on 1 query and a 82KB. There's a reasonably constant display on Xperfstate.

Question is: WHAT IS IT DOING???

The update is one which is run infrequently but usually completes in a couple of hours i.e. less that a working day of 8 hours! I get a sick feeling that the DB is in some sort of loop. Am in the throws of logging a call; meanwhile...

We do NOT have the Res Usage tables enabled currently!

Thanks

Gavin
