You can also use MS Access to move the tables (smaller ones up to about 30-40K rows). This assumes that you have ODBC drivers for bother Teradata and Oracle.

Create a new Access model, and link the tables you want to move from Oracle (do not import - just link). Then link the tables in Teradata you want to move to (assuming that they are the same). Then create append queries that moves the rows from Oracle to Teradata. Works like a champ.

We did a recent conversion from Informix to Teradata and used this for about 70-80% of the tables as they were the smaller tables. When they got to about 30-40K rows, it got pretty slow, but it works, it's cheap and saves a lot of time!

There is also an ETL tool from Hummingbird that I believe would do a pretty good job. It's server based and runs on an NT box. It's extremely easy to create your source and targets and move the data, However, with this tool you can do a lot of other manipulations, etc. It is very intuitive and might be worth your time to investigate. Go to the Hummingbird Web site (www.hummingbird.com) and go to the products list box and select Genio.
