OK, I guess I need explain what I'm trying to do. We have two computers A and B. I would like to talk to a teradata database on B from A. Using bteq I have attempted to do the following: .logon dbc@A nada, .logon //A/dbc still nada From teraperl I have tried the same thing. If this was Informix I would do either a: connect //A/dbc or b: connect dbc@A but Informix isn't Teradata. I guess it depends on whether or not teradata has a TCP mode as opposed to shared memory mode for connectivity. thanks for any help, bobm
