Subj:   Re: Rebooting viewpoint server

From:   Ganga, Sandeep Kumar

Hi Raghu Maram,

In a clustered system, the Primary should be started first, then the Standby Procedure to reboot viewpoint services if clustered is below,

#stop viewpoint services and postgres on standby
#stop viewpoint services and postgres on primary
#check the viewpoint services and postgres status on viewpoint servers, to confirm it show unused
#start viewpoint services and postgres on primary
#start viewpoint services and postgres on standby

If you want to reboot viewpoint server, you may use init 6, with below procedure

#stop viewpoint services and postgres on standby
#stop viewpoint services and postgres on primary
#check the viewpoint services and postgres status on viewpoint servers, to confirm it show unused
     #reboot primary
     #reboot secondary
#(here services should come up running by default(depends as defined in chkconfig), if not start them manually in below process)
#start viewpoint services and postgres on primary
#start viewpoint services and postgres on standby

And for a hard reboot of server, you may use SMWebClient where you find option to hard power off and hard power on.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Sandeep.

GANGA SANDEEP KUMAR
