If U are new to Teradata really honor the posting advice about the helpstats diagnostic.

"But later while implementation don't collect all the recommended ones."

The diagnostics tool will recommend collecting many stats that U�re applications don�t need.

Also, be aware of any tables that grow and shrink (maybe even emptied) on a regular cycle.

Mis-timed stats will give the wrong picture to the Optimizer.
