In my experience, archival and/or purging of the various log tables (such as SW_event_log, AccLog, EventLog, etc.) is up to the site. We
have a practice of creating specific archival tables that we copy data into from the system tables and then purge/trim the system tables as
necessary to keep them from getting too large. As for the archive/historical data tables we maintain, we keep varying amount of historical
data in them depending on the type of data so in our case the answer to your first question would be yes but you will have to check your
installation to see if you are doing anything similar....
