I'm trolling for advice on implementing surrogate keys on Teradata. Do people tend to ingore this aspect of a logical model?
Teradata Design (v2.4) course endorses system assigned primary keys for space savings and to "resolve the common practice of reused data
values." For a large system, an assigned key that's used as a primary index would have even data distribution.
The Teradata RDBMS Data Design v2R4.1 manual ignores surrogate keys altogether.
