Subj: | | Collecting Statistics on Non-Index columns |

Hi,
I understand that it is imperative that stats are collected on the Indices of a table. However, does it help to collect statistics on non-
index columns (columns which do not appear in any of defined indices of a table) which however are frequently used in Joins and WHERE clauses
?
Please share your thoughts.
Thanks.
