Also, please share the disadvantages of having huge number of columns as PI or SI.

In most of the Oracle source systems which loads data into Teradata., PI is defined as their source PK or just to get the uniqueness the developers define huge no. of columns as PI to get uniqueness.

Please share your thoughts on performance disadvantages in detail.

     PI (col1, col2, col3 , .....  col8);
