Apart from already provided answers (very valid :-) ). The upgrade of TD in major versions brings performance benefits and larger set of SQL
functions. E.g. version 15 supports arrays in stored procedures...
The question is why not to try to go to version 15.1 instead of version 15.0.
If your company uses a big data solution, then connectivity between a big data and TD is better if the version of TD is higher.
