Boy - This sounds so similar to the one that I had worked on several years back. It was for a Cell phone carried based out of LA and they were interested in calculating dues/overages and payment patterns. Very similar to you requirement, they had 30, 60 and 90 day overages. Customer payments always fill the 90 overages bucket and depending on how much he cleares it moves up. If it is similar to that, I had used bunch of OLAP functions then.
