Subj:   TASM Filter restrictions based on IP address logins

From:   Bodla, Sravan

Hi Forum,

I have a question on TASM Filters.

I have created a FILTER in TASM RULESET to restrict logins of users who are logging using batch user credentials.

FILTER:

     Classification :
Request Source - USERNAME ? I have selected 3 of my Batch users in INCLUDE
     clause.
     AND
Request Source - CLIENT IP ADDRESS ? I have selected the Informatica Server
IP and kept it in the EXCLUDE clause.

So that, all other logins from this user will be restricted from all the IP's except the one included above.

     UPRD_ABC_user - 100.250.300.400
     UDEV_ABC_user - 100.250.300.400
     UTST_ABC_user - 100.250.300.400

Question:

When I tested using UPRD_ABC_user and UTST_ABC_user the TASM is throwing the expected login error (TASM Violation error).

But, for other user UDEV_ABC_user, which is on the same system, I am able to login from all the IP's.

What could be this issue? Am I missing something here?

Please share your thoughts.

Thanks,

Sravan.
