I presume the character in question is the U+2265 "greater than or equal to" symbol, rather than an actual question mark? That character is not in the Teradata LATIN repertoire.

If the session uses UTF-8 or UTF-16 encoding and the column is defined as UNICODE, it should work.

In general, the client character set selected for the session must allow any supplied characters to be translated to the specified server character set.
