Subj:   Re: Question on Trigger.

From:   Dave Wellman

Hi Sushant,

That's a bit of a general question.

Triggers allow you to specify that one or more actions should happen when a specified event happens.

For instance, when a row is inserted into 'table-1' (this is the event) then a row is inserted into 'table-2' (the action).

The action can include an insert, update or delete. It can happen before, after or instead of the event.

If you read the DDL syntax manual, that gives you the syntax and an idea of the variations allowed with triggers.

Does that help?

Cheers,

Dave
