If I have a char(10) column that contains:

     Value    Count(*)
     A             123456
     B             11112
     C             999

And I want to compress the column, would I need to include the trailing blanks?

e.g. would it be:

1) Value char(10) compress ('A','B','C')

2) Value char(10) compress ('A ','B ','C ')
