Hi Kousik,

The data type setting of Char(72) means extra spaces would be there in converting the data. For that reason, the data wouldn't got converted to Period.

For Period datatypes, you need the values like this, INSERT INTO TABLE (DATE '2014-01-29',DATE '2014-01-30');
