Subj:   Teradata Resource Planning Guidlines

From:   Bakthavachalam, Roopalini

Hi Forum,

I have a question on Resource Planning. Now, my Teradata box is multitenant meaning , I would have 2 or more customers sharing the box without each knowing that the other exists. ?Currently there are 2 customers who are just setting up their ETL processes/jobs/loads and they have been allocated space (say 2TB) .However , since they are sharing the box, we would like to have fixed amount of resources allocated to each of customer (say fixed amount of CPU). Now the question , are there any guidelines that can be followed to determine the resources that the customers would require? I have put across some questions, that would be a starting point. Would sincerely appreciate , if any further inputs are provided in this regard.

Note : The Teradata box specification - is 6650H (1 primary node & 1 HSN), 24 CPUs, 48 AMPS , 96 VDisks. Now

Questions :

Expected Data volume every day?

Load operators that would be used ? Like Load, Update, Export, Stream Job complexity

No of reports ? Are there any complex reports?

Thanks

Roopalini
