Subj:   Row Hash Lock

From:   Bakthavachalam, Roopalini

Hi Forum,

I have a table that is created as SET table and with UNIQUE PRIMARY INDEX and it is being loaded using Informatica. There are no duplicates in the table too. When I see the lock viewer , I see a numerous row hash locks on the table. Any reason , why the row hash locks happen?

My understanding is that, when 2 rows with same PI hashes to the same value, there are chances for ROW HASH LEVEL blocking. How can there be Rowhash blocking when there are no duplicates?

Could you please help me understand.

Thanks

Roopalini
