Subj:   Re: No. of AMPs in a NODE
From:   Geoffrey Rommel

Could you please let me know whats max number of AMPs can be connected to one Node? How it decided?

"Connected" is not quite the right word. The AMPs are virtual processors (vprocs) that run on the node; each AMP spawns several processes (AMP Worker Tasks). The number of AMPs (and PE's) on each node is decided by Teradata Engineering on the basis of extensive workload tests. It is not something that an ordinary mortal would decide for his own Teradata installation.
