Wang, You can create a table of the Chinese characters and see if those characters in the column in the other table. However, I think you maybe actually trying to find out if you have characters that won't "Fit" into a Latin character set. You can do this with TRANSLATE_CHK function. I don't have an example but you can find it in the SQL Functions, Operators, Expressions and Predicates Manual. Thanks, Robert Diehl
