Subj:   How to remove dot (decimal) from exported file

From:   sughesh iyyani

Hi Experts,

I am facing an issue while comparing two files.

Problem is because column in my table defined as Decimal(18,0), and while exporting to file I am using CAST ( col1 as char(18)) [I have to export in char as another file is coming from DB2].

But data is present in table is such that its length is varying. Some times its only 17 digits or less.

So while fast export, one dot (.) is coming to output file, when column contain value only 17 digits or less.

So while comparing files, some where difference is found only in this dot. Value in both file is exactly same, but other file don't have dot at end.

Kindly advise me how to write a query such that the dot won't come to fast export output file.

I can't use INT/Long INT to cast as it may cause overflow.

Kindly advise.

Thanks in advance.

Sughesh I S.
