Subj:   What will happen is a vdisk is FULL

From:   Koushik Chandra

Hi,

Can someone please explain what will happen if a vdisk (corresponding to a AMP) is full and still we are trying to insert data into that vdisk.

For example, say I have a 4 AMP system and I have created employee table with dept_no column as NUPI. Now most of the employees are belongs to say dept =4 and because of that say there is skew in the 3rd AMP. Also the vdisk corresponding to that 3rd AMP is FULL. Now if I try to insert few more rows with dept=4, then what will happen? Will it throw an error message or redistribute (based on any other column)?

Regards,
