Subj:   System clock change

From:   JAMES PARK

TD 13 on Windows XP

Esteemed DBAs,

My company TD production server has 2 nodes: COP1 and COP2.

System clock time for COP1 is 8 minutes fast and 2 minutes fast on COP2.

Below is what I did to correct the times in both nodes and every step ran successfully. But the system clocks still didn't change. I wonder why it didn't work.

1. Set up a maintenance not to send out alert email. Bring down the database(not server using TPA command).

2. STOP Database. Use Teradata Command Prompt to stop database in cop1.

3. In a Command Prompt, run the 'time' command to reset the time on cop1. --Run this command on Command Prompt.

          NET TIME /SETSNTP:XXXXXXX

4. Then restart Windows Time service.

5. Restart the database.

Repeat steps 2 through 5 for cop2

Always thanks for your support

Thanks,

James Park
