Such kind of literals may be used only through ODBC.

But query seems to be correct - similar one works for me and retunrs 'Yes' :

     SELECT
      case
      when date '2012-05-10'  IN  ( {ts '2012-05-10 15:30:00'},{ts '2012-05-09 00:00:00'} )
     then 'Yes'
         else 'No'
     end dt_comp_ts

I believe you had ',' in the next line not copied to email....
