Hi All, I am an analyst and it's the first time I am dealing with Teradata and Relational Databases. I should connect R to Teradata in Windows 64-bit using VMware Player. 1) I install the VMware Player and run it with Teradata Studio Express 14 2) I install the ODBC driver and create a DSN? 3) I use "BTEQ" in the Gnome terminal, create a table and try to import a sample CSV file, as explained in developer.teradata.com/..., but I retrieve the following error: Teradata Load Utility Version 14.00.00.04 TPT_INFRA: TPT05004: CLI error 224 in connecting session (function ConnectSession). MTDP: EM_NOHOST(224): name not in HOSTS file or names database. TDLOAD: TPT05535: Error: Failed to determine the optimal load protocol for the load job. 4) Whenver I try to connect R to Teradata using the function tdConnect("nameDSN"), I get the following error: Warning messages: 1: In odbcDriverConnect("DSN=teradataDSN") : [RODBC] ERROR: state 28000, code 0, message [Teradata][ODBC Teradata Driver] Not enough information to log on 2: In odbcDriverConnect("DSN=teradataDSN") : ODBC connection failed Can anyone help me in setting up the connection ? Thanks a lot Edoardo
