Actually, it's a pretty bad situation called flow control. Teradata sets a timer for queries and each one waits longer and longer for some
AWT's to be available. Someone once described it to me as, "ok, query, go around the block the first time, then around a couple of blocks the
next, then even more the next." I'm sure Dieter could give a more technical and yet more illuminating description.
