Hi Experts.

Can you Please help me understand the purpose of TRANSLATE command in Teradata.

     select translate('sukul' using LATIN_TO_UNICODE);

This gives me same thing 'sukul'.

All I know is that Unicode characters take 16 bits for representation.

Am I supposed to expect any change in the output?
