Does anyone know, and be willing to provide, the top 5 or even 10 queries for use in looking at performance issues on the system ?

Excluding looking at the Explain Plan (which I think we can all do), I'm thinking more of looking at things like :-

- how stressed the System is,

- how much cpu a given Query is using

- how much spool a query is using

- any wait locks

- how skewed a query step is

- etc, etc

I'm really interested at the underlying catalogue Tables and how to use them effectively, rather than using any front-end tool; I know the latter are invaluable but I still think it's useful to know the catalogue Tables and how to get the most out of them.
