Hi, I think you are actually referring to the work table that Multiload uses for each target table (in Teradata the term "sub-tables" has a specific meaning which I don't believe is what you are referring to). Fastload doesn't use a work table because it can only INSERT rows into an empty table, therefore there is no requirement for holding a copy of the input data (which is what goes into the Multiload work table) before applying changes to the target table.
