Thank you for your quick replies. Can I just get confirmation around this based on my interpretation?
If the customer number is truly unique and used for access and we want to use partitioning on a date / timestamp column, then the best solution
would be to combine both columns in the primary index and partition on the date column - is this correct?
The other option I think being advised is to set the customer number up as a NUPI (even though it is unique) and partition on the date column -
agin am i thinking correctly? Are there likely to be any performance issues from using a NUPI?
