If I can just try your patience a little longer with Stored Procedures .... I've got some code within a Procedure, which I'd like to put into a Procedure in its own right. Ideally, however, I'd like it to be a Procedure within my main Procedure, partly because it'll tidy it away and partly because I want to call it with different parameters more than once, but I can't see it being of much use to anyone else. Thing is, can I do this, or do I have to create a separate Procedure ? I can't see any reference to this ability within the manual, but just in case I'd thought I'd ask you guys. It doesn't matter too much, but it would be nice if I could package things up a bit within my main Procedure. Also, is there any way I can get output directed to a file system, directly from a Stored Procedure, or is this a complete no, no. Basically, I'll be generating SQL from SQL and the result will eventually need to go in a file. Regards David Clough
