Yes my source is mainframe. And the data in the Hostdata.dat seems to be in ebcdic format only. I use the software called ultraedit to view this file . It actually converts the hexadecimal dump into its ASCII equivalent. Hence the a space which is HEX '40' in ebcdic gets converted to '@' in ACSII. IN ASCII HEX '40' means '@' ... and this is not what i want. is there any other way to view this data. Some sort of EBCDIC interpreter which will run on windows...(i am just guess.... not sure if such thing exists) Any input will be highly appreciated . Thanks Sukul
