The target table *is* the worktable:

In the 1st loading phase rows are stored unsorted in a special subtable (subtable id 1025 instead of 1024).

The "end loading" sorts the data in-place (AFAIK without additional spool) and moves the sorted data into subtable 1024.

You can actually watch that process when you run "showb /l" on the table in Ferret repeatedly during a FastLoad.
