Most people use FirstStepTime - StartTime from DBQL to represent parsing clock time. There is more going on there, though, than parsing but it is a reasonable facsimile. You could still end up waiting on dictionary locks, or waiting on AWTs even in this phase of processing, so it isn't all parsing.
