Subj:   Using ODBC connection from informatica to load

From:   Shetty, Vinay

Hi,

Currently for loading data into teradata , we are using native connection in informatica. Performance (throughput/sec) which we are getting is not good compared to existing oracle system .

In some scenarios, where sessions are having multiple target instances , throughput/sec goes below 50 . Below are details of throughput/sec

1) Tables within teradata ( source/target ) : insert on an empty target table throughput/sec ( 200 ) .

2) Tables within teradata ( source/target ) : update on an populated table throughput/sec ( 150 ) .

Note : Throughput keeps decreasing as the no of records increases .

Now from Informatica PWX source ( CDC source ) into Teradata stage .

1) sessions where we have multiple target instances : throughput/sec ( 2-5 ) .

Informatica version : Informatica 8.6.0 certified with our TTU 12 utilities (we have teradata 13 installed ).version 12 is what we installed on the Informatica servers.

Thanks,

Vinay
